Arafmi Youth Advisory Group

Help guide Arafmi's project that is looking at the experiences of children or young person who support a family member or friend with mental health or alcohol or other drug challenges.
Eligibility
Ages 18 – 25
Lived or living experience supporting someone experiencing mental health or alcohol or other drug challenges (e.g. parent, sibling, partner, close friend, or someone else important to you)
Regional, rural and remote communities, multicultural backgrounds (optional)
What
Youth Advisory Group members will meet every 1-2 months between October 2026 ~ June 2027. They'll help with things like:
Giving advice on how we talk with young people about their caring experience
Helping us make sure information is clear and easy for young people to understand
Working with us to understand our findings and develop recommendations
Helping shape our Young Carer Policy Forum event.
Renumeration
$50 per hour.

Youth Advisor
Rural and Remote Advocacy Project

Orygen is looking for young people to share their experiences in whatever way feels right for them. Your story could be a written piece, video, photography, audio recording, music, artwork, or another creative format that can be submitted digitally.
Eligibility
Ages 12-25
Lives in a regional, rural or remote area
What
By taking part, you'll have the opportunity to:
Share what life is really like for young people in rural and remote communities.
Help politicians and decision-makers understand the issues that matter most to you.
Contribute to a national advocacy campaign pushing for better mental health policy and services.
Express yourself through a creative format that suits you.
Build confidence, develop storytelling and advocacy skills, and be part of something bigger than yourself.
Be reimbursed for your time and contribution.

Upskilling Program
Generation Hope Goals 3.0

Children and youth are important members of society who bring unique attributes to the table and serve as agents of positive change. Known as “Generation Hope,” young people are a great source of inspiring innovation that can contribute to addressing the climate crisis and achieving progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Eligibility
Each group should be represented by 3 to 5 members who are 14 to 24 years of age. Groups that include representation of children, girls, and/or women, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Each group should be advancing a climate action solution (a minimum viable product or a service/program in operation for at least six months) that also tackles one of the SDGs under review at the 2027 Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development: SDGs 4, 10, 12, 15, and 17.
What
This application will be used to collect information about children and youth groups interested in applying for “Generation Hope Goals 2027: Actions for the SDGs,” which will culminate at the 14th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) in February 2027. The NSW Youth Summit 2026 is a free, one-day event that brings your bright, bold ideas directly to NSW Government decision-makers, services and community organisations.

Youth Advisor
Youth Mental Health: Shaping the Future

Scyne Advisory is working with the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to review the work that has been done by Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health since 2014 to develop youth mental health research, supports and resources to help improve mental health outcomes for young Australians.

What
💬 The Chat: A relaxed one hour online group discussion with other people of a similar age to you.
🎯 The Focus: Our discussion will focus on sharing your thoughts on youth mental health and how to make youth mental health resources easier to find, use, and understand. We will not be asking about your own personal experiences with a mental health condition or those of people you may know.
🛠️ No Prep Needed: You don’t need to study anything beforehand. Just bring yourself and your honest opinions!
